Where Iron Sharpens Iron / Proverbs 27:17
[1 Peter 5:8-10] Lord, please help us to be of sober spirit and to be on the alert Your adversary, the devil, who prowls around like a roaring lion, seeking someone to devour. Please help us to resist him, firm in our faith, knowing that the same experiences of suffering are being accomplished by our brethren who are in the world. For after we have suffered for a little while, the God of all grace, who called us to His eternal glory in Christ, will Himself perfect, confirm, strengthen, and establish us. [Proverbs 4:23] Please help us, Father, to watch over our hearts with all diligence, for from it flow the springs of life. [Colossians 4:2] Please help us to devote ourselves to prayer, keeping alert in it with an attitude of thanksgiving. [Deuteronomy 4:9] Please give heed to ourselves that we can keep our souls diligently, so that we do not forget the things which our eyes have seen and they do not depart from our heart all the days of our life; but make them known to our sons and our grandsons. [Psalm 39:1] For we will guard our ways that I may not sin with our tongues; we will guard our mouths as with a muzzle while the wicked are in our presence. [Matthew 26:41] Let us keep watching and praying that we may not enter into temptation; for the Spirit is willing, but the flesh is weak. [Acts 20:31] Therefore, help us to be on the alert, remembering that night and day we did not cease to admonish each other with tears. [1 Corinthians 10:12] And, let him who thinks he stands take heed that he does not fall. [1 Corinthians 16:13] Please help us to be on the alert, stand firm in the faith, act like men, and be strong. [Revelation 3:2] Please wake us up and strengthen the things that remain, which were about to die; for we have not found our deeds completed in the sight of My God. Please help us always to be vigilant, Lord, in all that we do. We ask you this in Jesus’ name. Amen.
