Ultimate Healing

Mark 1:29-39:

On leaving the synagogue Jesus entered the house of Simon and Andrew with James and John. Simon’s mother-in-law lay sick with a fever. They immediately told him about her. He approached, grasped her hand, and helped her up. Then the fever left her and she waited on them. When it was evening, after sunset, they brought to him all who were ill or possessed by demons. The whole town was gathered at the door. He cured many who were sick with various diseases, and he drove out many demons, not permitting them to speak because they knew him. Rising very early before dawn, he left and went off to a deserted place, where he prayed. Simon and those who were with him pursued him and on finding him said, “Everyone is looking for you.” He told them, “Let us go on to the nearby villages that I may preach there also. For this purpose have I come.” So he went into their synagogues, preaching and driving out demons throughout the whole of Galilee.

Jesus was healing people and performing Miracles publicly from the wedding feast at Cana right through until His Ascension to Heaven.  Saint John puts it this way in John 21:25, “There are many more things that Jesus did.  If all of them were written down, I suppose that not even the world itself would have space for the books that would be written.”  Jesus went door-to-door, town-to-town, village-to-village, and person-to-person to Heal as many as He physically could in the little time that He had with us all here while He was in the flesh.  But He’s never really stopped Healing us.  His Healing Hands are reaching out to us all each and every day and all that we need to do is to grasp them.  By taking Jesus into our lives (and into our hearts), the real Healing that we need can begin and, eventually, be successfully-completed.  Medics in the military heal many a fallen soldier; often healing their wounds enough for them to carry on with the battle and, eventually, to get them back home safe.  And, back Home safe is where we want to be with Jesus.  So, let’s be sure to remember to call His Name to allow our Ultimate Healer jump into the trenches of our lives and do what only He can do.
