Let It Be

Matthew 13:24-30:

Jesus proposed another parable to the crowds, saying: “The kingdom of heaven may be likened to a man who sowed good seed in his field. While everyone was asleep his enemy came and sowed weeds all through the wheat, and then went off. When the crop grew and bore fruit, the weeds appeared as well. The slaves of the householder came to him and said, ‘Master, did you not sow good seed in your field? Where have the weeds come from?’ He answered, ‘An enemy has done this.’ His slaves said to him, ‘Do you want us to go and pull them up?’ He replied, ‘No, if you pull up the weeds you might uproot the wheat along with them. Let them grow together until harvest; then at harvest time I will say to the harvesters, “First collect the weeds and tie them in bundles for burning; but gather the wheat into my barn.”’”

Most people can recall the song, “Let It Be”, made famous by the Beatles.  The first line of that song is a Reflection of the Parable of the Good and Bad Seed.  It goes, “When I find myself in times of trouble, Mother Mary comes to me, speaking Her Words of Wisdom, ‘let it be’”…  Just like the Parable here, there really isn’t anything that any of us can do to stop the fact that there will always be an enemy in this world that sows “weeds” (sin) into the field of “good seed” (Believers).  We are not called to battle each and every “weed” in our lives, for, in our moments of anger, frustration, and retaliation, we might “uproot” (hurt) the “wheat” (Believers) in the process.  Like in James 4:7, we are to ‘let it be’ and to “Resist the devil”, so that “he will [then] flee from [us]”.  We can’t go toe-to-toe in a fight with the devil – he is the equivalent of a three-star general in Angelic classifications (before he fell from Heaven).  We simply must just turn from him by focusing on Jesus.  It will be like this until the “Householder” (Jesus) comes back for the final “Harvest” (Judgement Day).  And, then the “Householder” (Jesus) will place the “weeds” (those who reject Him) for “burning” (in hell) and gather the “wheat” (Believers) into His “Barn” (Heaven).  So, let’s Unite our Faith Shields together and water the Good Seed in our lives, so that our Wheat will be ready for the Harvest of the Lord.  And, ‘let it be’, Trusting that some of the weeds in our Fields will be choked-out (and be changed) by the Eternal Love of Jesus that radiates from our faces as we Love recklessly on our way “through” (and not to) the Eternal Finish Line.

  1. Dear Gregg,
Good morning here’s my insights on Let it be from what you have emailed.
Our world is full of sins that all of us should be prepared on the Judgement Day.That we should all repent for our sins & should turn ourselves to the Holy Spirit to control us in order for us to enjoy the fruit of it by God’s amazing Grace. We all know that in order to obey God’s commands we should submit ourselves in obedience to his holy words & focus on Jesus Christ teachings for our salvation so that the Holy Spirit will enable us to control our worldly & sinful nature. Then with that when we surrender by loving God w/ all our might & soul it will help us defeat our sins & human nature in what this world offers which can lead us to eternal life & salvation w/ Jesus Christ as our Lord & Savior Amen!!!God bless Gregg.
    Best regards,
    June
