Fear No One but God

Matthew 10:26-33:

Jesus said to the Twelve: “Fear no one. Nothing is concealed that will not be revealed, nor secret that will not be known. What I say to you in the darkness, speak in the light; what you hear whispered, proclaim on the housetops. And do not be afraid of those who kill the body but cannot kill the soul; rather, be afraid of the one who can destroy both soul and body in Gehenna. Are not two sparrows sold for a small coin? Yet not one of them falls to the ground without your Father’s knowledge. Even all the hairs of your head are counted. So do not be afraid; you are worth more than many sparrows. Everyone who acknowledges me before others I will acknowledge before my heavenly Father. But whoever denies me before others, I will deny before my heavenly Father.”

The Gospel here is as about as blunt as the Good Lord puts things in the Bible.  We are the True Children of the One True King.  When we arrive in Heaven, everything that everyone ever did in this world (good and bad) is going to be front and center.  God is the Good Judge and He will judge according to His Standards and His Will.  Once someone receives the Holy Spirit into their hearts on this side of Heaven (when they accept Jesus Christ as their Savior), the game in this world changes.  And, it changes drastically and Eternally!  It’s the 180 degree turn that Saul experienced when Jesus blinded him on the road to Damascus forever changing him into St. Paul.  St. Paul got this, but, to be fair, he was blinded by Jesus and spoke with Him directly (and, most of us can’t make nearly that claim).  But we have their stories, don’t we?  There’s no need ever for us to be a “Doubting Thomas”; just look at the creation of the world, the Ark of Noah, the Burning Bush, the parting of the Red Sea, the Manna from the sky or the water from the stone, the falls of Jericho, Sodom, and Gomorrah, Sampson’s final “push”, Daniel in the lion’s den, David and Goliath, and on and on.  And, that’s just in the Old Testament!  How about the events around the Nativity and all of the Miracles that Jesus did and is still doing?  God is not the God of “OK”, He is the God of Awesome!  And, He has done things that our earthly minds could never wrap our intellects fully-around – they’re just too BIG for our little minds to comprehend.  So, we have to Trust Him.  We have to Listen to Him.  And, then, we must Obey Him.  Nobody ever said that Faith makes things easy; Faith just makes things possible.  So, we must stand on our rooftops, shout in our communities, sing in our hallways, and post on our pages – all for the Glory of God.  Nothing and nobody in this world can ever hurt our Souls, so we have nothing to fear.  God’s got this and He’s calling all of us to tell the world about how Good He is and how much He Loves everyone.  We need to pray, sing, speak, post, etc. past our comfort zones and not squander the little time that we all have left to change the world for Him.  He guarantees us a place with Him in Heaven if we do what He asks.  And, my Brothers and Sisters in Christ, there is no greater Calling!!!

  1. Our life on Earth as of this Pandemic is helpless that we can only depend on God’s grace through prayers with our trust & faith in Him.I believe that God’s miracle is the only way that can save humanity & that out total dependence on him through Jesus Christ teachings is our salvation. The miracles in the old testament & the miracles that Jesus Christ did shows as a reminder that God is with us even during this difficult times of sufferings by our union w/ Jesus Christ through the Holy Spirit through our prayers & is our only hope for us to experience God’s love for us.Amen & hallelujah!!
