God so loved the world that he gave his only Son, so that everyone who believes in him might not perish but might have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world might be saved through him. Whoever believes in him will not be condemned, but whoever does not believe has already been condemned, because he has not believed in the name of the only Son of God.
Most of us have watched “Judge Judy” or the ‘original’ “American Idol”. For many, the best parts of those shows are watching folks get condemned by either Judge Judy or Simon Cowell. We watch as folks stand like deer in the headlights while the celebrity hosts tear through them on how awful the person has been. The kicker is when they chastise them even further for ever coming to a show that gets aired globally and watched by millions. Condemn means, “to express complete disapproval of, typically in public.” While not condemning others “costs” us nothing, our public disapproval of others could “cost” us Everything. Jesus came to Save and love; He was crystal-clear on this point. If we truly believe in Him and His Father, then we should do our best to follow His example. But, we cannot do this in the flesh. As St. Paul reminds us, “If I do what I do not want, it is no longer I who do it, but it is sin living in me that does it.” Romans 7:20 “So then, with my mind I serve the law of God, but with my flesh I serve the law of sin.” Romans 7:25 Let’s fix our minds on Him and not worry about when the flesh fails. The flesh can never win, but our Spiritual mind always prevails if we put our trust in Him.
